August 15, 1988 - April 4, 2000
Missy was the first lab to enter our home. She was -at the time- our uneducated first labrador purchase together. She IS THE BEST LABRADOR that we have ever spent our lives with. She alone is solely responsible for training not only the new pups that came into the kennel, but the trainers too.
Missy's life time accomplishments included achieving a first place score on her first CDX trial and that included a run off, Lance was a basketcase that day :) . She went on to complete her title with taking a third place placement at her second qualifying trial and once again going through another runoff to take fourth place, in what seemed to be a class solely of golden retrievers, under judge John Cox at her third qualfying trial.
Missy was also our most seasoned
and veteran hunter. Missy still enjoyed the occasional hunting trip at
age 11. She competed in 1999 in Veteran Obedience one week before her
11th birthday receiving a 192.5 score out of 200 with Brenda handling
her for the first time. She always enjoyed showing to the crowd. She was
taken from us suddenly by kidney failure in April 2000. She will be
sadly missed for many years to come, but never forgotten.
