Sebastian is at this point and time probably our greatest accomplishment. We acquired Sebastian in January 1990 at 4 months old. We knew that day, when we stopped at the store to get him toys, and he honked the horn to tell us to hurry, that he was something special!
Sebastian received his first points under Col. Jerry Weiss (Lobuff) and his first major from Barbara Gomez (Barclare). During his quest for points he earned many honors from numerous breeder judges, but the most special was completing his championship by going winner's dog at the 1993 PSLRA specialty under breeder judge Mrs. Eileen Ketcham (Groveton). That same month he completed his JH. In the fall of '94 he completed his canadian championship in very limited showing. And all the while entertaining a few ladies between trips.
Sebastian made a limited show appearance to celebrate his 10th birthday at the Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Association Specialty in August 1999.
Sebastian has consistently produced puppies with gorgeous heads, nice depth of chest, balanced front and rear angulation, and proper coats. We (including Sebastian) are very proud of what his children are starting to accomplish in the field and the ring.
Sebastian left us for the rainbow bridge January 6th, 2001. He experienced a herniated disc in his spine and rather than have him suffer, we made one of the toughest decisions ever faced with ~ to let him pass on with his dignity. We owed that to him for his accomplishments, his children, and the many years of joy & love and the many friends he brought us. We will greatly miss him ~ for the dance with such a partner can never be forgotten.
